The Pennsylvania Association of Educational Office Professionals Scholarship
The PAEOP awards the Hermine Solt Student Scholarship every year in the amount of $500 to a student who will be furthuring their education in the field of business (secretarial, office technology, accounting, business, which includes business teacher.
Interested candidates should submit the application (available at www.paeop.org), transcripts, a letter of recommendation from your guidance counselor or business teacher, listing of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and a short paragraph on why you should be chosen for this scholarship to: Diane Readinger, Pine Grove Area Elementary School, 107 School Street, Pine Grove, PA 17963.

The Laurel Highlands Chapter of The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association Sholarship Foundation Program
Applications must be accepted for enrollment at a recognized post-secondary school of the food service and/or hospitality industry.
All qualified appicants will be personally interviewed by the Scholarship Selection Committee of the Laurel Highlands Chapter (LHC).
Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and meet the educational requirements of the enrolling school.
Applicants for scholarship by holder of present scholarships or other financial aid should be considered on the basis of:

The Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Scholarship Program
This scholarship program was developed to increase student interest in a career in sports medicine. One scholarship for the amount of two thousand ($2,000) will be awarded to a selected individual in return for a six-week summer internship (forty hours per seek, six weeks in a row, starting date is negotiable) at the Center for Sports Medicine of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/Centers for Rehab Services. The Center is located at the new UPMC Sports Performance Complex on the South Side. The recipient must have transportation to the clinic during the summer internship.
To qualify for the scholarship the applicant must be entering his/her senior year of high school (i.e. applicant must be a senior in September 2010). In addition, the applicant must also exhibit a substantial interest in a career in sports medicine. The scholarship will be awarded based on the following:

2010 Beulah Frey Environmental Scholarship
ASWP is proud to announce the 2010 Beulah Frey Environmental Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who are interested in furthering their studies in an environmentally-related field. Eligible seniors are those applying to two or four-year colleges and universities who are majoring in an environmental area of study. Over the past 13 years, ASWP has provided over $24,000.00 to help students defray the costs of college tuition.
Scholarship applications, along with our policies and procedures, can be accessed directly from ASWP's website, www.aswp.org, by following the "education" link. Completed applications must be postmarked on or before March 31, 2010.
Ballpark Scholarships, Inc.
Any current high school senior who is a resident of Washington, Fayette or Greene Counties of Pennsylvania and who is enrolled in an accredited public or private school is eligible. Applicant must have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale and must be planning to continue education beyond high school in an accredited institution of higher education or trade/technical school.

THE MOUNTAINTOP FOUNDATION

PAHRA
PAHRA has elected to implement a scholarship program totaling $4,000 for residents residing in public housing, Section 8 Programs or a redevelopment area to encourage higher education, develop self-sufficiency and increase self-esteem.
High School Senior Category $2,000 Scholarship - Age 20 or younger, who is not currently or has not previously been enrolled in an institution of higher learning or other accredited type of post secondary education.
Applicant must be a resident in PAHRA member Agency's public housing or Section 8 Programs or a redevelopment area during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the scholarship application deadline date.
Any resident pursuing an education in an accredited vocational/technical course, trade school certification, college or university degree program is eligible to apply for this scholarship program.
Annual income of the applicant's family must be within the Section 8 lower income guidelines. Individual's must have maintained a 2.5 grade point average (C+) or better during their entire high school years. This average must be certified by the high school through the latest marking period along with high school transcripts.

Pennsylvania House of Representatives 2010-2011 Scholarship
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania would like to extend to the students of Fayette County the opportunity to apply for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives 2010-2011 Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to college bound high school seniors who plan to attend a Pennsylvania college, university, or career school. Students are reviewed based on residency, choice of school, academic achievement, community and extracurricular involvement, and financial need. Also, there is a processing fee of $10.00 payable by check to the Foundation for Enhancing Communities. All applications must be received on or before March 1, 2009. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
The Foundation of Monongalia General Hospital Health Career Scholarships
$1,000 per school year. To be eligible for a scholarship, the applicant MUST:
1. At the time of application and award be a resident of one of these states and counties:
State: West Virginia
Counties: Monongalia, Marion, Taylor, Preston, Wetzel, Harrison and Tucker
State: Pennsylvania
Counties: Fayette and Greene
Exceptions: Full and part-time employees of Monongalia Health System and their children will be eligible regardless of residence.
2. Be enrolled or planning to enroll in an eligible medical career field at any accredited school (no geographic restrictions).
3. Meet the following scholastic minimums:

For one- and two-year programs a 2.5 high school grade-point average and a test score of 21 or better on the ACT or a test score of 850 or better on the SAT or a 2.5 grade-point average for applying college students.

For three- and four-year programs a 3.0 high school grade point average and a test score of 21 or better on the ACT or a test score of 850 or better on the SAT.

Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week 2010
Every student accepted will be awarded a full scholarship to attend provided by a local business(s) or community organization. This scholarship covers all costs for their week (i.e. meals, room and board, program supplies, etc.). The only cost to the student is a minimal $235 registration fee (financial aid and/or payment plans available) and travel expenses to and from PFEW.
The "Early Bird" application deadline for PFEW 2010 is March 5, 2010 and the Final Deadline is April 9, 2010.
There are a limited number of spaces available for PFEW 2010, so students are strongly encouraged to APPLY NOW!. Students may apply directly on the web site at www.pfew.org. Those applications received by March 5th will receive preferential treatment in the awarding of scholarships and the week assignmnet in which students will participate.

The Pennsylvania JCI Senate Scholarship
The Pennsylvania JCI Senate is an organization affiliated with the Pennsylvania Jaycees and the United States JCI Senate. Together, they promote leadership training through community involvement and believe "that service to humanity is the best work of life." Their commitment to serving others is the reason for this scholarship program.
The Pennsylvania JCI Senate annually sponsors a scholarship for senior students who are residents of Pennsylvania. They will be awarding two $500.00 scholarships this year. These two recipients' applications will be forwarded to the United States JCI Senate Foundation for consideration to also receive one of fifteen national $1000.00 grants. In the last eleven of twelve years, a Pennsylvania winner did receive an additonal $1000.

Four (4) scholarships are being offered to high school graduating seniors, residing within the boundaries of Lions District 14-M, which is comprised of Fayette, Greene, Somerset and Washington Counties Pennsylvania. No more than one scholarship for any one county.
Four (4) $1,000.00 sholarships will be awarded to seniors that exemplify the characteristics espoused by Lions Clubs International:

takes an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and/or moral welfare of the community

Preference will be given to applicants who are members in good standing of a Leo Club.
The scholarship is intended to assist with tuition. The check will be written in the name of the student. The student must present proof of acceptance into a post-secondary school.
The student cannot have received scholarships totaling more than one full year's tuition to his/her school of choice at the time of the awarding of this scholarship.
The scholarship is not necessarily intended for the top academic student. Lionism occurs at all levels of the GPA spectrum.

Wimmer Scholarship Competition
This scholarship offers over $500,00 in financial assistance to high-achieving, well-rounded students with a grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher. The exam includes subject matter in English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009, and can only be taken at Saint Vincent. Only students graduating in 2010 are eligible.
First Place Winner will receive Full T uition, and Room & Board for 4 years.
Second through Fifth Place winners will receive Tuition for 4 years.
Qualified students should register online at www.stvincent.edu/admission or by calling (800) 782-5549 no later than November 13, 2009. An official high school transcript (verifying a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5) and an application for admission must be submitted by no later than the date of the test - November 21, 2009.
KFC Colonel's Scholarship
Would a $20,000 scholarship change a student's life this year? The KFC Colonel's Scholars Program was created in 2006 and is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. To qualify, a student must be:

Graduating from high school this academic year (between 12/1/09-8/31/10)

Scholars may begin their college career by entering into either a 2 or 4-year accredited, public (state-funded) college or university within their state of legal residence, as long as they stay on track to complete a bachelor's degree program.
Students complete their application online at www.kfcscholars.org. The online application will be available from December 1, 2009 through February 10, 2010. Students will be asked to provide pertinent information about themselves and their family life, their activity level during high school, and compose a few short answer responses to various questions. The online application will allow the student to save their work as they go. Once the application period closes (February 10), a preliminary review of all applications will take place (early March). Based on the preliminary review, students selected will then be asked to provide additional supporting documents.

Uniontown Elks
The Elks Foundation is pleased to announce its 2010 Legacy Awards scholarship contest for children and grandchildren of Elks. The program, which kicks off September 1, 2009, awards up to 250, four-year, $4,000 scholarships to children and grandchildren of Elks members.
Applications must be completed and submitted online only. Visit www.elks.org/enf/scholars to start the application process.
The contest is open to any high school senior who is the child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of an Elk who has been a member in good standing for at least two years. Applications must be submitted to the Foundation by January 8, 2010.
Applicants are judged on the core values of the Elks National Foundation: knowledge, charity, community and integrity. Legacy Award winners will be announced late April 2010.
Children and grandchildren will compete separately against other children and grandchildren in their state. Each state is eligible to receive a number of awards based on its past support of the Elks National Foundation. Each state's quota is divided evenly among children and grandchildren.
